As its name suggests, Allspice Berries resemble a mix of many other spices and are like a mellow combination of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. They have a warm and fragrant aroma and taste pungent and peppery. Allspice is used to flavour meat dishes, pickles, sauces, stuffings, puddings, fruit pies and cakes. In Jamaica it’s an important ingredient in the famous jerk rub and is often added to Mexican moles (sauces).
